Migrating to Version 7.5
V7.5 Manual
All Customers with a version 7/8 license (Dongle, Serial Number…) can use their license with v7.5.
License compatibility.
For v7.2.5 Users:
Key reasons to move to 7.5:
- Speed: threaded processes, multiple CPU support
- Compensation Wizard: simplified ways to apply compensation for multicolor experiments.
- Output: Streamlined ways to Excel, Powerpoint, PDF, webpage, and movies.
Some things to know:
Workspaces saved in v7.2.5 can be opened in v7.5 directly. (Please note that v7.2.5 will not be able to open v7.5 workspaces). Gating within the Layout Editor is no longer supported. Multigraph overlay for histograms has the ability to offset, but does not have angling ability. Much improved Platforms. Grids work in the Layout Editor much better. Much improved Plate Editor. XML schema has changed. Command line implementation supports scripted execution of FlowJo.
v7.5 is a 100% Java application and can run on Windows XP or Vista with Java 6, as well as MacOS X.5 (on 64 bit Intel processors) and flavors of Linux.
For v8 Users:
v7.5 is a Java application and can run on Apple Core2Duo (64bit) or newer computers under OSX10.5 Leopard with Java 6.
Features in v7.5 not in v8:
3D plots. 2D Cell Cycle. Heat maps, Correlation plots. Plate Editor
Not in v7.5: Population comparison (coming in 7.6), polyvariant, polychromatic, cluster tools.
Some things to know:
Workspaces saved in v8.8.6 can be opened in v7.5 directly, but tables and layouts created in v8 will not be read into v7.5 (Please note that v8.8.6 will not be able to open v7.5 workspaces).
